These posts where I lay out reasons to not have a job have started to become a mini-series on their own. In the hazy phase of being asleep and waking up, I realized that those companies from which I was fired or laid from, only 1 of them gave me advanced notice of it. There was no “sorry” or excuse, no shame in not giving me a “heads up”, or even the decency of letting me stay for 2 weeks while I get my personal and financial life in order. Did they care to help me out when the situation changed and benefited them? No. When the situation is flipped and you are the one that is benefiting from leaving the company and going to a new career, employers almost demand that you give them a 2 or 3 week notice while they get their “life” in order and hunt
